Below were the predicted outcomes for the weekend fixtures Sat 23rd January 2010.
| Sat 3:00 | Man Utd v Hull |
| Carlos Tevez forced certain United characters to eat their words after scoring a brace in the Carling Cup semi-final first leg and to make it a worse week for the Red Devils, Arsenal leapfrogged them and Chelsea to the top of the Premier league table. United's defensive problems should ease with the imminent return to action of both Ferdinand and Vidic but Fergie's side look a shadow of themselves at the moment; the exception being Rooney who's given his all and at times appears to be carrying his colleagues. United have dropped just five Premier league points at Old Trafford this season but can't afford any more slip-ups if they're to keep tabs on the top two. Their opponents, Hull, will be looking to do a repeat of the job they did at Spurs by shutting out the home side though whether Myhill can be as inspiring again remains to be seen. Their point at the Lane wasn't enough to keep the Tigers out of the bottom three and was only their fourth on the road whilst still without a win. The pressure's on United to dig out a result but it should be a fairly comfortable victory. | |
