Everton
v Chelsea
Dropped
points at home to Wigan mean that Chelsea's title hopes are
almost certainly beyond reasonable expectation. However, Grant
remains positive and believes they still have an outside chance
as long as they beat both Everton and United, and Fergie's team
slip up in another game; with just 4 games to go it doesn't
look a likely scenario. The Blues have been playing less as
a team lately and more as a collection of individuals and the
wisdom of resting Carvalho and Drogba has to be questioned;
Lampard's absence was unforeseen but ultimately contributed
to a disappointing result. Chelsea haven't lost in the league
since mid December (at the Emirates) and face an Everton side
that haven't lost at home in the league since New Years Day
(against Boro). Since then Chelsea have had the upper hand at
Goodison in a Carling Cup tie which they won by a single goal.
The Toffees look destined to finish 5th as
they're unlikely to slip below Portsmouth and Liverpool are
5 points ahead but they're a resilient side and won't make it
easy for a disorganised Chelsea.
