Just 3 points and 3 places separate these 2 sides in the
top half of the table. Villa were unfortunate not to take
all 3 points at Anfield but that draw means they stay in touch
with 4th place, and more importantly with the other sides
vying for a place in Europe, be it Champions League or UEFA
Cup. O'Neill's men have taken 7 points from their last 3 home
games but Barry remains a doubt after recovery from a pelvic
injury is taking longer than expected. Their opponents, Blackburn,
were beaten at home by Villa in November to the tune of 4
goals without reply, but they've done reasonably well in the
last few weeks (the FA Cup home defeat to Coventry excepted)
against clubs in the bottom half of the table. Rovers have
lost just twice on the road this season but Villa have a degree
of consistency about them and will possibly again have too
much for a Blackburn side that haven't fared well against
sides above them.
