Liverpool may be out of Europe and failed to get anything
at Highbury at the weekend but this should not disguise the
fact that, bar Chelsea, they have the best home form in the
Premiership with 11 wins, 3 draws and only 1 loss. They have
recently created chances upon chances but generally they have
failed to convert them; it is now common knowledge that several
of Benitez's front men will be sold in the summer to make
way for a proven striker. They are now losing ground on United
in the chase for 2nd place and the last automatic Champions
League qualifying spot; worse than that, sides below them,
such as Arsenal, believe they are catchable especially given
the amount of games they've played already this season. They
couldn't hope for better opponents for this fixture though;
Fulham are still the only Premiership club without an away
win and 12 losses from 15 games tells the story. They just
can't seem to raise their level of performance on the road
and have been regularly turned over. Don't expect this result
to be a shock but Liverpool may still make heavy weather of
getting the winner.
